Docents | Special Program Volunteers | Archives Assistant | House and Garden Care The Historical Society of the Lower Cape Fear is always looking for volunteers. Several of the areas in which volunteers assist us are listed below; please don't hesitate to call or e-mail us if you are interested. You can also apply online to volunteer. DocentsThe Society's volunteer docents give guided tours of the Latimer House, as well as our historic walking tours of downtown Wilmington. Docents must participate in our training program. The docent schedule and newsletter for the current month are posted below. Special Program VolunteersMany of the Society's special programs — such as the Old Wilmington by Candlelight Tour, the Secret Garden Tour, the Discover Wilmington Summer Camp, our Victorian Children's Days, and others — are made possible through the efforts of volunteers who assist with all aspects of the planning and execution of these events. Archives AssistantArchives assistants are committed, computer-savvy volunteers who work in the Society's Archives, assisting the archivist with the general organization and upkeep of the archival collection. House and Garden CareDesperately needed! Assist in the maintenance and/or repair of the house (specific skills, such as carpentry or plaster work, are always welcome) and in the planning and care of our gardens. |
